VCUarts SUMMER STUDIO PROGRAM in Photography, Film + Media Art Artist Residency + Exhibition

The Summer Studio Program in Photography, Film + Media Art is a supportive, rigorous artistic residency that combines theory, practice and professional development over four weeks in Richmond, VA. Taking advantage of our extensive facilities at VCUarts, Summer Studio provides concentrated studio time and ample workspace, artist lectures, engagement with critics and curators and generous critiques with VCUarts faculty and guest artists. This intensive, hands-on experience is ideal for artists developing a portfolio for graduate school, as well as those interested in studio immersion within a stimulating and affirmative environment.

Samek Art Museum Hiring Museum Guides – Spring 2018

The Samek Art Museum is a program of Bucknell University that creates meaningful encounters between artists, students, scholars, the public, and works of art. These encounters occur in the Samek Gallery, the Downtown Gallery, the Collection Study Room, and across campus in pop-up exhibitions and permanent art installations. Presenting visual fine art in critical contexts consistent with Bucknell’s high academic standards, the Museum challenges students and extends the intellectual life of campus in an informal lifelong learning environment. The museum guide reports directly to the preparator and operations coordinator in addition to regularly working with the public programs and outreach manager.

$20,000 Grant Opportunity Through NALIP

The National Association of Latino Independent Producers (NALIP) is looking for content creators who would be interested in taking an incredible opportunity. Along with Corporation for Public Broadcasting (CPB) and World Channel, they will provide five $20,000 grants to help produce 3 documentary shorts and 2 scripted shorts about stories on how students move on beyond high school.
NALIP is currently accepting applications and the deadline to submit is December 10th.

Bucknell Student Documentary at the Campus Theatre

Wednesday, November 8 at 7 pm. STORIES OF THE SUSQUEHANNA VALLEY presents a WVIA documentary premiere, “Peoples of the Susquehanna,” a one-hour examination of rich Native American histories and perspectives on the watershed, followed by a half-hour Bucknell student documentary on “The Coopers and Conservation at the Susquehanna Headwaters,” which examines the literary legacy of James Fenimore and Susan Fenimore Cooper on Susquehanna environmentalism.
