Mohamed Abozekry and his band Karkadé will be performing a free concert on Friday, September 14 at 7pm in the Weis Center Atrium.
The Tuesday Film Series is exhilarated to be showing Anthology Film Archive’s 35MM preservation print of Born in Flames on Tuesday, August 28 at 7pm.
In celebration of the centenary year of composer Leonard Bernstein’s birth, the Film/Media Studies Program and Music Department present the 50th anniversary restoration of West Side Story (1961). The screening will be preceded by a special program of Bernstein music, performed by lyric soprano Emily Martin, pianist Qing Jiang, and cellist Lisa Caravan.
This Sunday, the third bienniel Bucknell Film Festival will premiere a series of short films made by students from six different Pennsylvania colleges. Following the screening viewers will vote on their favorite film, and a Best of Fest audience award will be presented to one filmmaker.
Students interested in Journalism careers are welcome to participate in this Alumni Career Services sponsored webinar. Join us on April 4th at 5pm in Bertrand Library Traditional Reading Room to hear from alumni about their career paths into journalism and learn what it takes to be successful in digital and broadcast media!
This is the fourth year for Writing Wrongs literary journalism project at which college students immerse themselves in a specific societal issue and create a print book about the topic. By telling the stories of those directly involved, Writing Wrongs offers a different and often-ignored perspective that challenges stereotypes and prejudices.
It’s that time of year again! Next Tuesday (December 5th) at 7pm, 15 students will premiere their films for all the (Lewisburg-area) world to see. Please join us! Invite your friends, bring your family and stick around afterwards for a dessert reception.
Wednesday, November 8 at 7 pm. STORIES OF THE SUSQUEHANNA VALLEY presents a WVIA documentary premiere, “Peoples of the Susquehanna,” a one-hour examination of rich Native American histories and perspectives on the watershed, followed by a half-hour Bucknell student documentary on “The Coopers and Conservation at the Susquehanna Headwaters,” which examines the literary legacy of James Fenimore and Susan Fenimore Cooper on Susquehanna environmentalism.
This panel discussion will examine the career paths of Bucknell Literary Studies alumni who work in Media and Journalism. Come hear their advice and perspectives as they discuss their work and available opportunities. Saturday, November 11, 12 – 1 pm, Williard Smith Library. Lunch will be provided, RSVP by 11/7.
