Study Abroad in England

Interested in studying abroad?  There is an information session this Thursday, September 28 about a Bucknell-affiliated program in Bath, England.  The following was sent via email by Professor John Hunter:

If you have students interested in studying abroad and would like a program that really caters to English students (in all three flavors!), then please send them to learn about the superbly-run, Bucknell-affiliated ADVANCED STUDIES IN ENGLAND program in the beautiful, United Nations World Heritage City of Bath in the west of England. The program features a wide variety of courses, small classes with British faculty, and has options for both semesters AND the summer. Best of all, it really gets you involved with British life. And, it is easy to transfer credits to count for majors at Bucknell! Bath is small enough to be walkable, but only 90 minutes from London by train and 45 minutes from an airport from which you can fly all over Europe.

Our very own Joe Scapellato will be teaching there in an upcoming summer; Ghislaine and I taught there in the past. There are internship opportunities for students with the Theatre Royal, Bath, local museums, and a film production studio. It really is a great program and many Bucknell English students have enjoyed it for over 25 years.

An informational presentation will be run by Dr. Rob Jones, the Academic Administrator of ASE this THURSDAY, SEPTEMBER 28th at 5:00 PM in LC 217. Bucknell students who have done the ASE program will also be there to give their perspective. If you know of students who might be interested in this program, please forward this email or have them get in touch with me.

For more information, go to http://www.studyabroadbath.org/drupal634/ or contact me(jchunter@bucknell.edu). I would be happy to answer any of your questions. For now, forward this message as widely as you can!

Best,

John Hunter
